Generally the West Suffolk is first class.
The only downside is the waiting period when attending appointments however I am fully aware of the demands on the staff.
..
I deeply object to the level of car park charges
West Suffolk does it very best considering they are under staffed and there are not enough beds. The nurses treat you with patience and understanding in general with only a few letting the team down
My 4 year old daughter was in for squint surgery, the ward was clean, friendly and happy environment. My daughter felt at ease and comfortable there.
The nursing staff were efficient and friendly, and the cleanliness levels were very high.
My biggest issue with this hospital is cost of parking. There should be more disabled bays. it should be FREE to all staff.
i have no other problems with it. i have always been treated well over many years.
Staff were all fantastic and looked after our daughter with great care. Everyone was really caring, explained everything to her, made sure she understood and reassured her.
Also as a parent we were looked after while she was in theatre.
The level of care today in A&E (2.3.13) was outstanding - see my review of Dr Ayyamuthu describing this.
Suggestions concerning A&E environment:
the entrance to A&E is not obviously signpostedL we entered through the wrong door.
the waiting area was not particularly clean, but the impression of it makes the experience of sitting there unnecessarily depressing? The area is rather chaotically organised with a number of hospital beds to one side of a set of screens. There were many random signs up around the walls, a broken snacks' machine, and a general sense of the "makeshift". This is a real shame, as much of the personal care was SUPERB.
An excellent hospital with very caring staff.
The right size to be patient - friendly and efficient.
The general condition of the ward & hospital was first class. The room was cleaned daily & all the staff were very friendly.
